Nebraska
  • Fully owned (100%) by Abengoa Bioenergía.
  • Annual installed bioethanol production capacity of 90 Mgal.
  • Annual installed DGS production capacity of 230,000 tons.
  • Annual consumption of corn of 825,000 tons.

The subsidiary Abengoa Bioenergy of Nebraska is in charge of operating the plant in Ravenna, Nebraska, USA. This company is fully owned by Abengoa Bioenergía. The construction of the plant started in 2005 and concluded in 2007. The operations are being developed at 100% of their design levels, with the annual installed bioethanol capacity of 90 Mgal per year (340 ML), through continuous fermentation. It has 60 highly qualified employees. This facility is the first in the United States to use continuous fermentation technology.

The project includes a double railroad circuit for simultaneous loading and shipment of 10 ML of bioethanol in 95 tank cars.

The plant is designed to recycle all process waters, which in the end are processed and returned to the plant for reuse. This means that less water is consumed resulting in minimal pollution levels and therefore minimal ecological impact.
